Dr. Shelley A. Wilton received her undergraduate work at Worcester State College in Massachusetts and D’Anza College in San Jose, California. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. Previous to receiving her doctorate, Dr. Wilton was a sports massage therapist for twelve years, as well as a nutritional counselor. She had the opportunity to work with professional athletes, both in the sports of mountain biking and football and with tri-athletes.
Community Involvement is very important to Dr. Wilton. She founded Derrill’s Race in 2004, in honor of Easthampton Police Officer Derrill Stoddard. The race has raised thousands of dollars for the Cam Neely Leukemia foundation for Cancer Care and has established a local scholarship to benefit students who will be continuing their education in the field of law enforcement or criminal justice. Dr. Wilton is a member of the Southampton/Easthampton Kiwanis Club, and is the club’s first woman member. She was awarded the 2005 business person of the year by the Chamber of Commerce, and served as the Vice President of The Chamber in 2006. Dr. Wilton serves on the White Brook Middle School council. She often gives health assemblies on the importance of proper nutrition, backpack safety and other subjects. Each fall, Wellness Within Chiropractic conducts a backpack and school supply drive for WBMS. In previous years, our patients have filled backpacks with much needed supplies and have purchased text books for classrooms. In exchange for participating in the event, we treat our patients to a day of “free care”, with complimentary massages, adjustments, and great treats!
